A workshop with leading scientists, AI researchers, and institutional investors on how AI can move finance beyond automation toward discovery, reasoning, and responsible adoption.
An AIAS+ 2026 industry workshop exploring how AI can move financial institutions beyond automation toward discovery, reasoning, and responsible transformation.
Today, 90% of the AI conversation is still about automating what we already understand. The real breakthrough will come from the AI we have not fully seen yet: AI that discovers what was too complex, too fragmented, or too invisible for humans to see.
Asset management is one of the world's most demanding knowledge industries. Investment organizations must reason under uncertainty, integrate fragmented information, evaluate competing narratives, and make decisions before outcomes are known.
Most AI adoption today focuses on automation: summarizing documents, accelerating workflows, and reducing manual effort. Those use cases are important, but they are only the beginning.
This workshop focuses on the next frontier: Discoverative AI, systems that help institutions discover new relationships, identify emerging risks, reason through market narratives, and build more responsible decision-making infrastructure.
The morning session is academic in focus: researchers applying AI to financial markets, spanning AI-driven markets research, narrative intelligence, and causal reasoning, present work that moves finance from backward-looking analysis toward forward-looking discovery.
The afternoon session turns to industry implementation: institutional investor executives discuss responsible AI adoption in asset management, culminating in the launch ceremony for the AMAT Guide, a practical framework for institutional AI transformation.
A session devoted to discovery: academic research presentations at the frontier of AI and financial markets, moving finance from backward-looking analysis toward new questions, new methods, and new science.
How is AI reshaping the study of financial markets? We welcome scholars presenting research across asset pricing, risk, macro, microstructure, and alternative data, from applied machine learning to AI-native financial science built around discovery from first principles.
Markets move on narratives long before they move on data. How can AI systems detect, structure, and quantify the narratives shaping asset prices, separating signal from noise across fragmented research and market commentary?
Correlation has carried quantitative finance far, but discovery demands more. This track examines causal inference, world models, and reasoning systems that let institutions ask not just what happened, but why, and what could happen next.
A session devoted to implementation: institutional investor executives on how asset managers put AI into production safely, compliantly, and at scale, culminating in the launch of the AMAT Guide.
What separates institutions that scale AI from those stuck in pilots? Executive perspectives on operating models, build-vs-buy decisions, talent, and the leadership choices behind AI-native asset management.
Model oversight, data lineage, auditability, and regulatory alignment: the controls and shared standards that turn fragmented pilots into compliant production at scale.
Practitioner-built guidance covering investment, technology, risk, and compliance: the shared infrastructure the industry needs to implement AI with confidence.
The afternoon culminates in the launch ceremony for the AMAT Guide, the AI Transformation Guide for Asset Management: a practitioner-built framework from the Asset Management AI Transformation initiative covering strategy, use cases, architecture, data, governance, assurance, talent, and scaling.
